You have to create product with the 3d modeling skills. If you are an expert in 3D modeling. Think of any product that can be created by 3d modeling to solve a problem or overcome a challenge faced by you community. Your parents, teachers or friends can be your clients.

Goal; 

The problem /challenge is

To provide people who do not have limbs and enough money to buy prosthetic ones, with easy useable prosthetic limbs made by a 3D printer.    

Role;

I have been asked to 

Make prosthetic limbs using a 3D printer for people who cannot afford ones.

Audience;

My targeted audience or clients are 

My goal is to help people who struggle to buy prosthetic limbs and these people are of all ages.

Situation;

The measuring situation make it more difficult because to make sure it fits the person and it actually helps and supports them. 

Product, Performance, and Purpose;

I will create prosthetic Limbs to help people who cannot afford ones.

I need to develop proper useable prosthetic limbs that will actually help and support the person who needs them so that I will help them and it will actually work.

Problem situation.

The goal is to provide people who do not have limbs to have something that can make their life easier. A normal prosthetic limb would cost around $5000 to $50000, whilst a printed one costs around AED400 (which is about 109USD).

3D modeling and printing is the process of developing a mathematical representation of any surface of an object, you can create many things using a 3d printer

Examples of 3D modeled products are;

• Whistle

• Clothing line clips

• shower curtain hook

• Drink coaster

• Lightning cable savers

The areas where 3D modeling is used in the world are;

• Fire guns

• Medical use

• Food 

• Fashion

The following example of 3D product was analyzed and the finding below where concluded;

The above is identified as a 3D Model of a prosthetic limb that was modelled by William Root to help people who had their limbs amputated, these people lose most of their freedom in movement and limits their abilities.

It was designed with a proper structure of the person’s limb to make it look realistically shaped as possible. To solve the problem of the normal prosthetic limbs unrealistic shape it was printed with the shape and it made light to decrease the weight on the person. It comes in different sizes and shapes depending the person.
